Venus Day Ritual: A Limestone Body Treatment for Self‑Care

Venus Day is a time to honor beauty, pleasure and self‑love. This Venus Day, we invite you to join us in ritual on the islands for generations: a gentle limestone scrub and conditioning treatment. At our upcoming Venus Voyage retreat in Jamaica this March, we’ll share this culturally rooted ritual as part of our long weekend weekend devoted to ritual, relaxation and beauty born from the land.

Venus Day Limestone Treatment —

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup finely ground limestone powder (cosmetic grade or prepared by a knowledgeable practitioner)

  • 1/4 cup virgin coconut water

  • 2 tablespoons fresh aloe vera gel

  • 1 tablespoons local raw honey (optional)

  • 1 tablespoons kaolin or rhassoul clay (for the wrap/mask)

  • Zest of 1 lime or a few drops of lemongrass essential oil

  • Warm water as needed

A Venus Day Ritual

  1. Set intention: breathe deeply and name an intention. Hold the intention while you blend your ingredients.

  2. In a bowl, combine limestone powder, clay, and coconut water to a creamy paste. Add aloe vera and honey to form a thick paste; add warm water if needed. Stir in lime zest or essential oil. In the shower, apply to damp skin and massage with gentle circular motions (avoid face and sensitive areas).

  3. Gently massage to torso, arms or legs, avoiding delicate areas and visualizing tension and stagnant energy being released. Let sit 8–12 minutes (don’t let fully dry if your skin is sensitive or tends to be dry). Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

  4. Seal: Finish with a nourishing oil or body milk and give thanks to the earth for providing the materials for the ritual.

At Venus Voyage in March we’ll learn how to find, preparation, and the cultural context of limestone, coconut oil, and clay rooted in Jamaican heritage. Join us to learn the full practice, connect with community, and bring home a meaningful Venus Day ritual.
